  1. From 42:00 onwards in the video. The capacitors of the amplifier can be easily tested without removing them from the circuit board. I mean the method where the tip of the soldering iron is used to heat the capacitor casing. If the sound improves/changes, you have found the bad one.
(this method only works for electrolytic capacitors)

  2. This is awesome! Observing how a professional works is priceless. I learned so much in the first 45 minutes than any other course I’ve looked at.

  3. 25:29 – It looks like there may be four screws in the corners hidden behind some goo covering the access holes.

  4. Richard is right. The BEST way to learn electronics repair ( aside from watching this channel of course!) is to actually have a go at it.
You might not fix things to start with, but then you will, and your confidence and experience will grow.

  5. When you measured the resistance of the speakers, you were touching both leads with one hand. Doesn’t that mean you were also measuring the resistance through your hand?

  6. I did just that. I started with tape decks, speakers, and then moved on to mid tier amplifiers. Then higher end vintage amplifiers. I have so many working pieces now I don’t have room.

  7. Hi I was given a Dr dre monster beatsbox 2010 edition and for sum reason it won’t power on when I plug it into the wall.. Any advice greatly appreciated.. Mike

  8. There is nothing simpler than repairing Subs and Satellites Speakers. Wow, you know how to complicate things! Your speaker testing would be much simpler if you used voltage from a power supply or battery. Even if there was a faulty cable for a satellite speaker, the sub should still work. You should always start with sound coming from the sub, because the sub drives the other speakers.
Yes, I understand that you want to teach electronic repair and become a professional on YouTube, but just be a real teacher to young people learning electronics.
Sorry but I have been an electronics engineer for over 51 years.
Please, if you’re taking the time on YouTube to teach electronics, please do it right, otherwise stop!
Are you trying to show that you are an amazing technician?

  9. I used to enjoy repairing electronics stuff but nowadays electronics stuff got cheaper than the time I spent to troubleshoot it so I just threw them away and buy new ones

  11. I’m trying to understand electronics just for fun in my spare time because it interests me and this stuff is so incredible someone with you’re skill sharing this. Way over my head at the moment but thank you

  12. Just curious, why does it need the 2 Rails; B+ and the Hot Ground if it is only using one of them? Your PS didn’t show any current draw on the left side at all?

  13. Very very educational never regretted subscribing. The only thing though is where is the speaker grounded in the bridge circuit?

  14. You’re definitely motivating me to start learning electronics all over again. I started years ago with little Radio Shack books by Forrest Mims but I got discouraged until recently having watched a few of your vids. Now I’ve got a Korg synthesizer that needs help and I’m feeling more confident in tracking down the problem. Love the vids, thank you much.

  15. Fantastic channel , just getting into this would love to repair old 70s/80s music studio samplers / synths etc
I currently have a Yamaha e1010 1978 delay unit and the audio coming in on the input is spiking when you turn the unit on and then all audio is gone. Turn it off and back on and repeat
    Any ideas ?

  16. I would like to repair a set of cables for a car battery jump starter (lithium). My daughter connected the crocodile clamps the wrong way round on her car and although they are supposed to be protected with a light for reverse connection they dont work anymore. There are only few components including 3 small capacitors , 1 chip and and a large black cube which resembles a relay that you would get in a car fuse box. (However its not a pull out like in a car). Anybody have any advice or direct me to a tutorial please? Shame I cant upload photos.

  17. What is memory in electronics? How is it possible for it to retain pictures, sounds, numbers? Do u have a video on it.

  18. I’ve got a cheap soldering iron that I leave set up in a little vise on my bench that I use when tinning and joining wires. Leaves both hands free for wrestling the wires.

  19. Tried fixing a dead UPS for 3 days, Ive given up after checking so many things ie battery mosfets, caps etc, but I haven’t removed a single component to test out of circuit. is this the wrong way of doing things. (still learning)

  20. Likely a bad question…..in situations like this, would it have been possible to pass a constant signal through the system and use a scope to check it at various points? Could the bad caps / circuit be identified that way?? Appreciate any input. Thank you.

  21. This was lovely to watch.

I’m trying to learn electronic repair to fix stuff around the house, as a hobby, and this channel has been a great resource!

  22. can recommend a decent rework soldering station for a beginner that is definitely going to stay with it for awhile??
